Authorize.Net and Braintree Support

Authorize.net has long been the industry standard for payment gateways around the world and Braintree has asserted itself as a strong competitor on the market as recently evidenced by the fact that PayPal acquired them. Both companies support payments in over 130 countries worldwide. Today we're announcing that Book Rides Online supports both of these payment gateways in addition to Vecter Technologies. 

If you currently have an account with either Authorize.net or Braintree you can simply look up your API credentials, plug them in to your Book Rides Online account, and immediately begin processing payments through Book Rides Online.

The Wait is Over!

Today we're excited to announce a brand new feature for Book Rides Online that will help you instantly quote prices to your clients from your website. Pricing Tables is a complex feature that required a lot of thought and planning because every transportation company has many different ways of figuring out how to price a transportation request. The entire feature was built to give you complete control over the form that appears on your site and to issue direct pricing based on a set of rules (if you so choose).

There are three different types of pricing that we built into this feature: Flat Rate, which requires a price per service area; Hourly pricing which allows up to 24 hrs of varied hourly pricing and also allows you to set a minimum number of hours per vehicle; and Distance Pricing which allows you to set a price per mile and automatically calculates the distance between pickup and dropoff and applies your price per mile to that figure.

If you're not interested in direct price quoting, the form reverts to send you the information and requiring you to issue a quote manually. We would love to show you more on how our pricing tables work, so give us a try! After all it's free for 30 days!

This feature allows to customize your business email communications with your clients through the Book Rides Online portal. With each DBA you can create entirely separate entities with completely customizeable:

New Feature! - Driver Time Reports

Driver Time Reports

Book Rides Online makes it easy for your drivers to log their times for each of their runs with just the click of a button from their phone. This helps you keep track of how many miles they've logged and how much time the run itself took. It also provides a lot of convenient ways to let dispatch know at what point in the run the driver is at and allows the driver to send an automated text message to the client with an ETA.

Today we've added a new feature to help you generate reports for each driver to show how many miles and how much time they've logged for each run they've done within a certain time period. This can be especially useful for your records or for figuring out driver payroll.

The Report Tool

To access the reports go to the Drivers page and click on the "Driver Time Report" link in the top right-hand corner.

The report tool allows you to select the drivers you want to generate reports for and the pick the time range that you want to show the totals for. From here, we calculate the total amount of hours logged by each driver as well as how many miles were driven.

Fixing Mistakes in Reports

It is important to note that these reports are based solely on when each driver clicks each run log button and what the driver enters for mileage. Sometimes that can lead to the reports not being entirely accurate due to user error when inputting their data.

But don't worry, we've also made a quick and easy way for you to fix any mistakes you may find. Simply click on the gear next to the run entry that appears to be incorrect. Once you've done so, a dialog window will popup and allow you to change or add any information in the logs. When you hit save, the report updates all by itself!

• Enhanced user experience with an auto-refreshing map view

New Feature: Calendar Syncing!

Calendar Syncing with Third Party Programs

One of the most important things when dealing with scheduling your transportation business is being able to access your schedule from multiple locations to help you and your managers run efficiently. For this reason we put together the option to subscribe to your runs calendar from multiple third party programs!

Outlook

Setting up your calendar on outlook is pretty simple. Select your calendar and locate the button in the menu named "Open Calendar". Then click on "From Internet". Here you can enter the URL for your calendar feed provided in your Book Rides Online portal and you're done! It's that simple.

Google Calendar

In your Google calendar, click on "Other Calendars" in the left hand column and select "Add By URL". Once you seen the pop-up box, enter your calendar feed in the space provided.

Lastly, there is one more step required to have your subscribed calendars show up only if you're using an iPhone and with a Gmail account. After you've completed the steps listed above, you will need to open Safari and navigate to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect. Once you've logged in, simply check the box next to the the Runs Calendar that will be listed here.
